River House at Rivierplaas

Fantastic cottage perfect for a romantic escape with dog children in tow. Beautifully decorated but pet friendly at the same time. Kitchen had everything we needed and more, and having an inside and outside braai was ideal. The farm is lovely to explore and the river frontage glorious for summer days (we stayed in winter and still enjoyed it). Cottages are far away from each other to be private. Fully enclosed with solid fence for piece of mind with dogs.

The property was beautifully equipped and provided the perfect getaway from the city. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up.

The only issue we encountered was with the amount of firewood provided. Between the indoor fireplace, outside braai, and especially the wood-fired jacuzzi, the wood supplied was not enough for our stay. The jacuzzi uses a significant amount of wood, and despite using what was provided, the water only became lukewarm. Having to drive back and forth to town to buy more wood was inconvenient. It would be great if more wood could be provided during the winter months, even at an additional cost, as we certainly wouldn’t mind paying for the convenience. Aside from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property as a lovely escape from the city.

Location was perfect, just outside the main Town but super close drive. Nice and private location with great views. The hot tub was incredible. We will def be back with more family!
