About this house rental
This property is perfect for family getaways, reunions, staff retreats, or special celebrations like weddings, baptisms, or birthdays, just one hour from Chicago. Resting at the highest point in McHenry County, the farmhouse offers sweeping views of a private pond, rolling hills, and stunning sunsets, creating an unforgettable setting for connection and relaxation.
We now offer a brand new outdoor pavilion designed for special events. Guests interested in hosting an events at the farm must discuss with the owners in advance. The property also features friendly chickens and ducks, and we are happy to provide fresh farm eggs based on guest preference.
Inside the Home
The farmhouse is spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged for multiple families. The downstairs living room features a large screen TV and excellent Wi Fi, making it easy to unwind after a day outdoors. We have also added a brand new game room equipped with two arcade machines, a foosball table, and a pullout bed, perfect for evening fun or giving kids their own hangout space. Throughout the year, the home is seasonally decorated, adding warmth and charm to every stay.
Event Barn and Pavilion
The event barn now includes a brand new outdoor kitchen, ten picnic benches, and soft outdoor lighting that creates a welcoming atmosphere for gatherings of all types. The adjoining pavilion provides a picturesque setting for celebrations, workshops, and family events.
Outdoor Activities and Family Fun
Families and groups love the property’s wide range of outdoor amenities. The private pond offers a peaceful place to relax, enjoy nature, or venture out on the paddle boat. Surrounding nature trails give guests a chance to explore, stroll, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery.
Two outdoor firepits are perfect for evening smores, stories, and a true camping feel under the stars. The spacious backyard includes a trampoline and plenty of kid friendly games, making it easy for children to stay entertained.
We also offer dozens of outdoor games upon request, such as volleyball nets, cornhole, giant yard games, and more, ideal for family tournaments and friendly competition.

Eddie and Katherine were the most wonderful hosts. We had our bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner and wedding/reception here, and it was all amazing. I highly recommend this for your event. Can't wait to go back for our anniversary!

Themis was a huge property with a lot of area for kids to explore in. There is a pond in the property that you can paddle boat in and fish in and an outdoor pool so make sure to keep kids safe around those areas. Overall, it was a weekend well spend and we loved the property
