    The standard private room was looking like a cage, the mattress was extremely dirty, the room was extremely small, poor lighting

    I don't like giving critics but this is just an honest review. First of all : the location is great, the bed was good, the room itself pretty clean. the host was friendly too. But there were also some problems: -the budget room was small (of course), but because of the moisture it didn't smell very well. The small windows weren't enough to freshen the room, nor the clothes and towels you leave in the room. -Wifi was very slow, as it is in most of Sri Lanka. -there were ants in the bathroom upon arrival and there's a small issue with the toilet causing it not to flush sometimes. You have to open and adjust it then. -when we asked for new towels on our second day because they were still moist, we were told it normally costs extra to get new towels. We were not charged however, because we made clear that we didn't agree. All in all it was an okay stay, but I think for this price you can find better rooms in Hiriketiya or Dickwella.
