I have stayed in this property when I had previously had to travel to Hartlepool for work. Similar to my last experience, I enjoyed my stay. The house had good WiFi connection, clean and fresh bed sheets, and was quite in general. Free parking was round the corner and checking in and out was all smooth and stress free so I didn't need to contact the host as I checked in late in the evening. I will stay again when I am next in town. Good value for money, location and facilities.

Enjoyed my stay in the house, check in was very smooth and easy. All was done on WhatsApp. Host friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the kitchen and lounge had everything I needed for my stay. Can’t really fault.

House next door is burnt out and thus pigeons in the roof space could be heard from 4am onwards in the summer!

We came to the property to find there was a young lad selling drugs in the house we had to Barry de ourself in the bedroom because we were that scared drugs all over the side and everything

That there was a lad in there selling drugs from the property loud noises most the night people coming and going buying drugs unacceptable

Host was very friendly and responsive, check in was smooth, house is warm and clean and the property is centrally located to the town centre. I visit Hartlepool often for work so will stay here again.

The location was ok for sightseeing but there is no free parking only permit holders only not very good when it says free parking which is quite a walk for someone with disabilities the house next door is completely burnt out with no roof it is a shared bathroom so no facility for private bathroom the cutlery and pots and pans were all dirty and some even rusty we had to go out and buy our own to be able to cook a meal

It is stated that the bathroom is private. It is separate, but located in the open kitchen area without any markings, no key. In my understanding, "private" means for my exclusive use (lockable), not something I have to guess upon arrival, with no assurance of privacy. There was no hot water on the first evening after arrival, no heating. The owner involved another guest to handle the boiler issue, asking them to explain what was wrong. I'm not interested in the reasons why there's no water — I’m paying for a reasonably priced stay and expect the basics like hot water and heating to be guaranteed. The issue was only resolved late at night. Seagulls walking on the missing part of the roof, as mentioned in another review, is true — they didn’t let me sleep. However, those were the least of the problems I encountered there. On the second night, after returning from work, I found 6 police officers and two police cars at the apartment. It turned out one of the tenants had attempted suicide in the bathroom leading from the shared kitchen. The owner gave no explanation, no apology, no warning that this had happened. No information on when the place would be cleaned. (Another tenant had to convince him to even notify the police about such a serious incident.) The mentally ill person was taken to hospital but returned to the apartment around midnight. Due to the very late hour, I couldn’t change accommodation. I stayed until morning and left as soon as possible. The owner only contacted me after I informed him I was leaving. He wrote, “random booking man is leaving the apartment the day after tomorrow” — that was his entire response. He later deleted this message on WhatsApp. A tragedy — I’ve never had such a bad experience on Booking. Booking refunded part of the costs, but what I experienced there is indescribable. The owner tried to play the card that I never showed up (I have photos, screenshots, I was recorded by the police).
