Die Unterkunft liegt in einer wunderschönen Lage. Toller Bungalow und wunderschöner Garten. Die Besitzer waren super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Wohlergehen ihrer Gäste ist ihnen sichtlich wichtig. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

People's kindness , quiet location and good food

A quaint mini bungalow within nature for an absolute steal. To top it off you’re hosted by two beautiful & caring people, Gregory & Shanti. On my arrival in the evening at around 6pm I was greeted by my host & was advised to try and not wander out in the evening as there are maybe wild elephants roaming around. And if I do hear elephants roaming I should stay indoors. The first thing that came to my mind was, “yeah right, I guess they want their guests to stay indoors”. How I was so wrong. I learned the next day that around the time of my arrival and advice given, a Hungarian gentleman was killed in the presence of his wife by a wild elephant a stone throw away from Sigiri Elephant View House https://www.adaderana.lk/news.php?nid=118537 Sigiriya is not Pataya nor Galle & I trust for most the main reason of our visit is for its rich cultural heritage (especially the Lions Rock) & its nature. There isn’t much night life in Sigiriya either. Instead of being put off by their presence, why not try to coexist peacefully, respecting their boundaries at all times. A dance of mutual respect: we give them space, and they give us the privilege of witnessing their world. The accommodation is after all named “Sigiriya Elephant View …” for a reason.
