This was an exceptional 3 stars hotel. Can't fault the location or the service. Don't expect gleaming interior but everything you need is included, including toiletries & free laundry. The room was functional and comfortable. However, during 2 nights of my stay my sleep was interrupted by mosquitos, so pays to spray yourself or the room before going to sleep. Shower was very hot, air con was very cold and WIFI connections were good. Remember to carry the correct adaptor for your phone but fear not if you're not very organized as they do offer USB ports in the room. Sound proofing appears to be good as I couldn't hear the neighbors but you can hear people talking in the hallway easily. Daily housekeeping is included in the price and outside the hotel there are 24/7 police presence, so you do feel very safe. There is a small fridge & microwave in the common area on Lv1 if you're desperate.

I stayed at this hotel for around two weeks in all, partly as I took a shine to Guangzhou, but also for the excellent value for money this hotel offers. Rooms are clean and comfortable, a robot glides along the corridors delivering food. Excellent location in the historic Liwan District, a five minute walk to Huangsha Metro Station! Opposite a school, lovely sounds of music and playground activities in the morning. Much recommended.

I am a frequent traveller to China. Lanyu Hotel is definitely one of the best in this price range.
