There wasn't anything we didn't like.

We absolutely loved Voortrekker. For travellers like us, it was just the perfect place in a perfect location to explore gorgeous Shetland. Piet and Niki are exceptional hosts in every way, and they have really put their heart into giving their guests the best possible experience. There are so many thoughtful details everywhere, on top of the wonderful perks you would have a hard time finding elsewhere: free use of the lovely sauna and hot tub, free laundry service, possibility for a BBQ... The bed was super comfy, the kitchen incredibly well stocked. Everything was clean and in great condition. The communication was excellent, and any question we had was immediately addressed. We stayed five nights at Voortrekker and are now really missing our beautiful rooms, the stunning scenery, the sheep, bunnies, goats & dogs - and the warmth and friendliness of our hosts. They have put so much hard work into creating this gem of a guesthouse and succeeded brilliantly. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a stay we will always cherish as one of our most fond travel experiences!

Location is amazing. The owners were fantastic. The apartment was extremely well equipped and very clean.

The bathroom could be a bit better lit and a bit more spacious.

Niki and Piet are super-friendly hosts. The apartment is very clean, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is a spa area with a sauna. Lots of animals on the property. Great view of the cliffs. We will be back.
