Accommodation is in a fantastic location – you can walk everywhere. Rooftop has lovely views over the town and the sea. There’s a water filter machine in the kitchen which worked well. Bedding – including mattress – felt new. Everywhere is freshly painted.
It’s a party hostel – if you’re looking for a boisterous stay (and a good night’s sleep isn’t important to you) then this would be a fun choice. We were there for three nights and partygoers were still enjoying Varkala at 4am. If you are the beach side of the accommodation then there’s a band that plays alfresco just outside your balcony which you can enjoy until after midnight
This was one of the more expensive places we’ve stayed in India. for the price I would’ve expected a towel and some soap or shower gel.
