Most condos at Honua Kai chase the ocean. Honua Kai Konea 232 turns the other way, toward the emerald ridges of Mauna Kahalawai and the rainbows that arc above West Maui after a passing shower. This two-bedroom, two-bath home opens onto a 1,200-square-foot lanai, where chaise lounges and the scent of plumeria set the pace for however slow the days go.

This unit will remain air-conditioned during all available rental dates, and we have blocked off the period when this unit will be under construction. Guests may hear intermittent noise from work in nearby units, including brief use of hammer drills, though these will not be used for extended periods. Work will take place on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend work expected unless the project falls behind schedule.
• There is a self-parking fee: $20 + tax per night, paid at check-in.
• The lanai sits open to the grounds below, so intermittent sounds may carry up to the unit.

Honoa Kai is a great place. We found this property to be accurate to its listing and fit our family of 6 perfectly. It was clean and well kept for the most part. We did have some issues with finding some of the dishes and cooking utensils to be dirty when last put away and had to wash them before use. We used the kitchen to prepare most of our meals and wish there were more than just 6 dinner plates, 6 salad plates, and 6 bowls because it did not give us much to work with. We also had to purchase a small pan to cook eggs in because the pan choices were minimal. Understandable, but wish the kitchen was a little better stocked for use.

The check-in and check out was so easy, everything we needed to make this a home away from home vacation experience was wonderful, the multiple pools, jacuzzi’s, towel pick up and drop off so convenient and the amenities in the premises was clean and beautiful. We highly recommend this place to kamaaina and those traveling to Maui.
