About this house rental
Welcome to the “Maack Riding and Vacation Farm” just outside the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel in the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park”!
We—Sandra and Wiard Maack, along with our son Kilian and daughter Aylien—live and work here at the “Maack Riding and Vacation Farm,” right next to the dike and the North Sea.
We run an active agricultural riding farm, and there are many horses and ponies here, as well as a dog and several cats. We also cultivate crops to produce our own feed.
All vacation apartments are cozy and comfortable, and are ideally furnished and equipped for a vacation on an authentic East Frisian marsh farm.
Everyone in our family has been crazy about horses since childhood, so we have three large outdoor riding arenas (one for dressage measuring 20 x 40 meters, one also for dressage, measuring 25 x 50 meters, and a jumping arena) and a small but lovely indoor riding arena.
In addition to riding lessons, we also offer trail rides and pony rides for the little ones. Our so-called “guided rides” for everyone are very popular. During these rides, parents lead their children on horses in groups for about an hour, accompanied, of course, by at least one of our riding instructors.
In addition, every family can lead a pony themselves for twenty minutes during the children’s riding session at 5:00 p.m. every day.
A certified riding instructor is on site at the farm. She provides professional guidance to both beginners and advanced riders.
Our farm is only 300 meters as the crow flies from the dike, so you can perfectly combine a vacation at the riding and farm with a North Sea getaway. There are a variety of tourist attractions in the area, and there’s actually always something going on here year-round—and it’s always good for your health anyway! Our winters are quite mild and particularly well-suited for biking and hiking along the Wadden Sea, on the dike, or in the moors. So come let our fresh, clean air clear your head.
In front of the farmhouse, there’s a playground with a volleyball net, a soccer field, a climbing frame, a slide, and much more. There’s always something going on here, and we’re really looking forward to your visit!
Just a short distance away—an easy ride by bike, but also a short walk away, lies the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel, a 300-year-old fishing village with an active shrimp trawler fleet. In the beautiful historic fishing harbor, East Frisian fishing is still actively practiced today by many crab fishing boats.
There’s a wide range of tourist attractions for your vacation: A beach with the fantastic “Platschi” water play area, the new, modern “BadeWerk” spa and wellness center with a seawater indoor pool and sauna facilities, as well as a spa house, a ballroom, an information center with the “Leuchttürmchen” children’s playhouse, the Sielhof as the “House of Guests,” green spaces, events, a lovingly maintained historic harbor, and many other attractions.
Neuharlingersiel is located right in the middle of the East Frisian North Sea coast, across from the island of Spiekeroog on the mainland.
It’s about six kilometers to a leisurely shopping stroll in the old “bear town” of “Esens,” and eight to “Werdum”—where you’ll find the coastal brewery and the petting zoo, which is especially popular with the little ones.
It’s also just 3.5 kilometers to the North Sea spa town of “Bensersiel.” There you’ll find a beach, the beach entrance with the covered play area “Bennis Abenteuerland,” and many other attractions, including the “Sonneninsel” North Sea thermal spa, a seawater wave pool, and plenty of other leisure, spa, and recreational activities.
Welcome to Ostbense on the dike, welcome to the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel, welcome to East Frisia on the North Sea!
Check-in is available from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00, and check-out is from 08:00 to 10:00.
