さかのみち-sakanomichi

We stayed at Sakanomichi for two nights and absolutely loved it! Ken and Yuki were exceptional hosts who spoke good English and were extremely kind and helpful. When we arrived they picked our bags up from the station, gave us cold water and a bear bell for our walk and pointed out sights for us to stop at. They even booked us into a recommended local restaurant for dinner. The guesthouse is in a perfect location in Magome with stunning surroundings and we really enjoyed exploring the area in the evening once everyone had left, it was nice and quiet! In the guesthouse, everything was very nicely put together, very clean and had everything you could need. The room itself was lovely and had great views of the mountains. We had breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse on our second day which was very delicious, and we enjoyed trying some homemade drinks like the plum wine from the bar. Ken and Yuki also showed us some of their recommended spots for the place we are travelling to next.

Clean and comfortable stay in the centre of Magome. Simple and unpretentious atmosphere with two lovely and extremely helpful hosts who spoke good English. The curry we had there for dinner was delicious also. The bathrooms were shared but there are enough so there was little queuing.

Stylish, functional, inviting in a good location

We had a wonderful nights stay after a long hot day walking The Nakasendo . The owners were very kind and helpful and offered a lot of advice with restaurant recommendations and tips for travel for the next part of our holiday . The meals were lovely and great value for excellent quality produce. The breakfast was perfect to fuel up with healthy fresh food before another day of walking. The accomodation is very clean , a lovely renovation of an old traditional building . The futon bed and lovely linens were very comfortable .
