Premier Inn Koeln City Centre

The room we ended up in (after having to shift because of a loud buzzing aircon) was spacious and the bathroom was huge. The location was great; beside the train station and only a 10 min walk to Cologne Old Town. It was very quiet and the aircon was blissful in 38 degree temperatures. The hotel provided iced water down in Reception to help with the heat. One of the male staff on Reception was very friendly and helpful - gave us free drinks because our original room wasn't ready for 20 or so minutes at 3pm.

The young woman on Reception was unhelpful and grumpy. Our changed room was a lower category than what we had paid for but because we got a free drink, she wasn't going to refund us the difference! She finally spoke to her manager (who had shifted us in the first place) and we got free breakfasts that they then tried to charge us for on leaving. The rooms aren't cleaned in any way during your stay and you have to ask for anything to be refreshed or replaced.

Accueil très agréable d'autant plus que nous avons pu prendre possession de notre chambre plus tôt qu'annoncé avec, cerise sur le gâteau, l'info que nous pouvions faire le check-out jusqu'à midi le lendemain. Personnel disponible et souriant. Chambre et salle de bains très propre. Climatisation facilement réglable. La chambre était un peut-être un peu petite mais rapport qualité-prix juste à côté de la basilique Sainte Ursule (et de la Chambre dorée) et de la taverne Schrekenskammer (la meilleure kölsch !), à 5 minutes à pied de l'Eigelsteintorburg ou de la cathédrale : c'est TOP !

C'est habituel dans les hôtels à Cologne, l'offre télévisuelle est mondiale mais en ce qui concerne la francophonie cela se limite à France Info et TV5....de ce côté-là il y aurait un petit effort à faire ;-)

Comfy bed, with 2 pillows per bed. Friendly staff - she allowed us to check in early, we arrived almost 1pm. Nice decent room , nice shower. Basic room but comfy enough to rest.

The aircon got a timer which, turns off after sometime then you need to turn it on again, a bit hot so aircon is a must
