Quito Basecamp - Adventure Hostel

The location was great, everything is clean, free breakfast is excellent, free WiFi, options for laundry, and staff is kind and attentive.

although this property is very close to the historical centre the hotel itself is very modern and new inside. the quality of the room and facilities was excellent. I unfortunately got food poisoning (not from the hotel) and the staff assisted me with a pharmacy visit and a modified breakfast.

Staff was very nice, and good location for walking to historic center. Room was clean. I was only able to have breakfast one morning and it was simple and mostly "American" not traditional but good. Staff met us at door at 1am to make sure we got in our taxi safely for an overnight flight.

So my biggest complaint is that this business is confused on if it's a hotel or a hostel. I booked it thinking it was a HOSTEL because on this website, that's the name and the impression. In reality, the name is actually Quito Basecamp Hotel. There are no shared spaces, no public lounge areas, no kitchen/fridge available. The only thing "hostel" about it is that there are public bathrooms in the hallways and they charge per person for nightly rate. I stayed 4 nights and my room was not touched once--trash not emptied or anything which is kind of gross when you are putting the toilet paper in the waste baskets. No amenities in the bathroom. And at breakfast it only includes one cup of coffee.
