Hotel Mediterraneo Quito

“Tuve una muy buena experiencia en Hotel Mediterráneo Quito. La ubicación es excelente, cerca de los principales atractivos del centro histórico. La habitación estuvo limpia, cómoda y segura. El personal fue amable y atento durante toda mi estadía. Buena relación calidad-precio. Lo recomiendo para quienes buscan hospedarse en Quito.”

Walking distance from Quito's Historic district. Parking for up to 2 or 3 small cars is available. A basic room, pretty clean, for a good price. Lots of restaurants within a short walk. Friendly hosts made it enjoyable even for one night.

The owners and the staff were kind and helpful. The location is very good, 10-15 mins walk from the main square in the old city. Secure parking for motorcycles. The wifi was fast. The breakfast was at an extra charge of 4$, was ok. Eggs, jam, butter, fruit and granola with yogurt, coffee/tea and juice (not fresh). There was available water and coffee 24/7. The towels and the amenities (soap & shampoo) were changed every day.

At booking.com the room was mentioned as 40m2. I didn't expect that big but the room was among the smallest rooms I have ever been. The bathroom was definitely the smallest bathroom I have ever been. There were no shelves to put my clothes so I had to keep them in the suitcase throughout my stay (4 days). In the bathroom there was a constant smell and there was no hanger to hang the towels. Similarly, in the shower there was nothing to put the soap and the shampoo. There was a desk no more than 1 square foot large so, only a small laptop cold be put on and nothing else. There were no bedside lamps, only the main light. The day of my departure there was no breakfast because the lady preparing it was not available. 2 out of the 4 days there was a football team of primary school kids at the hotel, who were very noisy as they were shouting in the corridors and the yard. I was charged 7,5% more for paying by credit card despite my complains. After traveling for 4,5 months in South America it was the first time I was charged extra for my cc in a hotel.
