We really enjoyed our visit, good location for St David’s and the coast, Solva round to Porth Gain

Location was great. We enjoyed our stay.

The two seats provided we found rather uncomfortable. The bathroom door had a terrible squeak.

Sheppards Hut

Stunning and well equipped hut. Quiet and remote location but easy access to nearby attractions (by car). Loved how cosy and comfy the bed was. Lovely hot shower. Arriving to some goodies (wine, ale, and Welsh cakes) was a great touch. Definitely recommend a visit to the local St Davids Beer Brewery which is run by a lovely family! Well-equipped kitchen. Although we didnt meet Dav, when speaking to him over text and phone he was friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed aspects of our stay, but there were some issues. The main problem was the heating: we were told it wasn’t working as we arrived and couldn’t fix it with the instructions provided. There was no spare heater as suggested, and while we used the log burner, the logs were damp so only smaller pieces burned. By day three, when the hut had dropped to 13°C, a small electric heater was delivered, but it wasn’t enough, especially overnight. The host tried to arrange someone to fix it, but the fact is that we didnt have any consistent heating throughout our whole stay. Privacy was also lacking, as three of the four windows had no blinds. A house overlooks the hut. Cleanliness could be improved too — we found hairs in the bed and bathroom, and the dark blue rug in the kitchen area was covered in dog hair (?) making me question how often the hut is deep cleaned. Finally, given the heating problems, it would have been appreciated if the host had followed up after our stay, and we feel some form of compensation would have been appropriate.

Sat Nav took me on a lovely detour around the lanes the first time to get there but was fine after that. This was mainly due to low/intermittent signal reception.

It will be good to stay if things work in order.

We managed to get radiator work but it’s off an hour time and unable to get it works again . There were no water over 24 hours due to Welsh water issue.

Stayed for 2 nights for my birthday, it’s like the secret garden behind the tall gate . All I can say is WOW WOW WOW

WOW WOW WOW What a beautiful place so peaceful, everything you need to escape the hustle and bustle of the city even for a little while. Will definitely go back again.
