Appartement central-coeur de Paris

Die Lage war einfach perfekt! In einem sehr schönen belebten Viertel mit vielen Restaurants und Bäckereien. Mit der U-Bahn gut gelegen für unsere Ausflüge in die Stadt und nach Disneyland. Da das Appartement in einem Hinterhof gelegen war, war es extrem ruhig. Wir konnten super schlafen. Die Unterkunft war auch erstaunlich geräumig für Pariser Verhältnisse und wirklich toll ausgestattet.

The location was just perfect, all the little restaurants, the theaters, the the. bakery Mamiche, the little court very cute, the kitchen very functional the dish washer...everything works perfectly, felt like home for some days.

Time to invest in a new sofa, a pointy screw was sticking out right in the middle of the sofa, it could have been very dangerous for the children playing around and some aunts in the kitchen

Die Schlafcouch quietscht leider sehr

Good size, clearly renovated. Especially bathroom. Very well equipped. Appliances are new and work well, hot water flows immediately. The location was spectacular, in a lively neighborhood and next to Rèpublique metro station and 10 minutes walking from Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. Plenty of Boulangerie-Pâtisseries and restaurants around. No major Paris landmark is more than 25-30 minutes walking, half that if using public transportation. These are all outstanding features of the property.

1. The absolute worst: no air conditioning. We went there in the middle of the worst heat wave in recorded history. The property has several portable fans, but without A/C it was pretty much uninhabitable and definitely uninviting during the day; and it was nearly impossible to sleep at night. We consider this a major drawback, so much so that it cancels out a lot of the good. We understand that A/C seems to be kind of a luxury in France, and that our experience would have been different in other seasons. But it was what it was. And, in our eyes, an apartment must be designed to ensure the comfort of its occupants no matter what the weather is, not just when it is pleasant. This was not the case. In this sense, it was a terrible experience. Coming back after a very long day in Paris to a hot and humid apartment was not enjoyable at all. 2. While the unit is completely renovated in the inside, the interfaces with the exterior (windows and door) were lacking. All the windows (to a dark and rundown courtyard) were tinted, and only the upper panels could be opened if stepping on a chair. Difficult to ventilate and very little light. The owners have done a great job at installing dozens of recessed spot lights in the ceiling, but it doesn’t take away from the impression that you are in a very dark place. The door was very old and difficult to open and close.
