Château du Fresne

A stay at Château du Fresne feels like slipping into someone else’s beautiful, slightly secret life!.. The house has that rare French-château atmosphere that is both grand and lived-in, it's filled with art, beautiful light and a sense that the place has stories it is not in a hurry to tell. The hosts are exactly what you hope for in a place like this: generous, warm, and unintrusive. They make you feel welcome and then leave you free to explore the house and it's surroundings. Breakfast was amazing, and the bedding fine and comfortable. There are plenty of activities around, forest walks, charming towns. The vélo-rail nearby was a hit. Mont-Saint-Michel is close enough for a memorable day trip. And a ten-minute drive takes you to a family-friendly buffet O’Ciel (easy, plentiful, and a relief after a full day out) The slight inconvenience of a spartan bathroom situation is not a big deal for a short stay (and this place won't be priced the same way once the owners will get all the permits to fix it for sure!) So if you appreciate beauty and want an unforgettable experience, do yourself a favour and book this hidden gem, you won't regret it! PS: we recommend using Waze to get there as you risk to be guided through the old non existent road or even to another Chateau du Fresne (winery) 2h drive away with Maps

Alles, wat een uitzonderlijke verrassing! Wij genoten van het gehele gebeuren. De plek, de stilte, de geschiedenis die uit iedere steen, ieder voorwerp sprak. Veel kunst, eigenlijk één groot levend totaal kunstwerk!

Ja, een gedeelde badkamer. Daar hadden wij niet op gerekend. Maar deze kleine verrassing viel voor ons weg, bij zoveel moois!

L’accueil et la sympathie des hôtes le lieu magnifique et plus très appréciable notamment le repas du soir au centre le pigeonnier en très bonne compagnie

Le partage des roulettes mais on le savez d’avance mais le Charme de l’endroit nous a conquis
