Pleasant stay in a lovely place

Shame it smelt of wet dog.

The main bed was clean, big and comfy. The kitchen was well catered. Good space. Large dinning table. Parking near.

The lounge smelt of wet dog. It hit hard on entering and the smell stayed. The main areas were clean. But we moved a chair and there was big clumps of dog hair, Pens and food. The lining in single room was dirty. In the outside space a big of dog poop and lots of dog hair.

Lovely location, beautiful town. Gorgeous house which was cool in the hot weather, all the rooms were nicely decorated and very good facilities. Very nice to find such a wonderful place which allows dogs. Stunning dining room table. Very comfortable beds and living room chairs. We have already discussed that we would like to stay here again.

Very minor thing, but the loo roll holder was loose which was annoying. When we arrived the dogs were trying to get behind the couch and it turned out a previous visitor must have thrown/dropped chicken and raisins behind there. There were also raisins in the creases of the couch. Just something to check in future when cleaning. This was easily remedied, however, it's the only reason we didn't consider everything absolutely perfect.

Comfortable and cosy but needs some TLC

The cottage is in an excellent position within easy reach of local attractions and amenities, ideal for walkers. It was well equipped for self catering, and the beds are super comfortable. Although it is advertised as three bedrooms it is only a small cottage with one bathroom so only really suitable for a maximum of four. It was very cosy and quiet. It’s close to the Heritage Centre where the cafe serves an excellent breakfast !

The second bedroom was barely big enough for a double bed . The bedside lamps were not plugged in and this involved scrabbling around to reach the extension lead and plug, this was also the case in one of the lamps on the main bedroom. The iron didn’t work. The hand towel holder in the bathroom was falling off the wall.The headboards in the bedroom were not fixed and served no purpose, all these things are simple things that would have bumped up our rating. The stairs are not suitable for the elderly or young children, although we were advised about them after we had booked.

Was a truly wonderful stay

The location was fantastic, shops, places to eat & drink all within walking distance. Inside the house was very modern and comfortable. Plenty of space for all of us to relax too. The internet TV worked really well, broadband was really quick and the sofa & arm chairs were super comfy too. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare a meal, so many complimentary items such as cleaning products, even for the washing machine and you have everything you could need to make a good hearty meal.

Only thing I would say is maybe a mirror in each bedroom? There was some competition for the mirrors in the house haha!

Overall I would stay again, just wish the house was tidier

The property was spacious, nicely furnished, parking was good as it’s right outside the house on a private road, nice little garden with chairs and a table. Owners also extremely helpful and reply very quickly to messages 😊

Property wasn’t as clean as we would have expected, it definitely needed vacuuming as there was bits all over the floor, but there isn’t a vacuum there to use. Also there was loads of long dark hair on the double bed which was a bit disgusting as we had to clear it off. Other beds were fine. Additionally, there is a washing machine and washing detergent etc, yet there’s nowhere to dry clothes, no washing line, no airer, nothing. Next door seems quite rude for no apparent reason.
