House in historic Winchester

It was such a great location and all the small touches like milk in the fridge and pancakes left for us really made it feel homely. The history of the house was so interesting and made for some good conversations over dinner 🤣

Great location

Cobwebs, loose floorboards, broken oven door, only one bathroom, other was just a toilet. Lots of stairs as house on 4 levels

Everything about this house and our stay was fantastic. Hosts communication was superb, the location is great, right in the city with an easy walk to the attractions, the shops and the restaurants. And also to the station, only a few minutes walk if travelling further afield. The house was as described, was clean, with everything you needed supplied, including some doughnuts on arrival - thank you, a lovely touch - as well as the milk, tea, coffee, sugar etc. We enjoyed the house and enjoyed the hot tub. Thank you so much to the hosts as the house really added to our stay in Winchester.

Perfect location. Hot tub was a bonus, garden got alot of the sun. Quirky 3 story house with lots of nooks and crannies. Nice big kitchen and table.

The house was great - no real problems or issues

Easy walking distance from the station and to the centre of Winchester. Didn't look much from the outside, but the inside was attractive and quirky with a charming small back garden. Clean and well equipped.

Is over 4 floors with the entrance and lounge at ground level, the kitchen and garden downstairs and the bedrooms over 2 floors. Fine for us, but would not be good with toddlers or anyone with mobility problems. There is also only one shower, although 2 toilets. Can't park outside the house, so we rented a private driveway through the website JustPark which worked very well.

We liked the location.....

The house was in a disgusting state when we arrived, although apparently it had been professionally cleaned!!! 1inch of dust underneath one of the beds. Dirty cups, dirty fridge and even dirty bedding! Oh and Cobwebs everywhere. The kitchen was inhabitable due to the strong musty smell, presumably damp from somewhere! We arrived late so were stuck with no choice but to stay the first night. Then the owner said that they would pop round and clean the areas that needed cleaning! It was a full house clean that was required, we were only there for 2 days. Oh and to top it all off, the owner asked what we were doing looking under the bed in the first place, apparently we were looking for dust and trying to get a refund!! The bed had space under, so I went to put a suitcase under, out of the way.....No comments on the rest of the dirty house though, dirty bedding is unforgiveable in my book.... Booking.com took 3 weeks to process any complaint, they were slow to react and we barely got any money back even though we only stayed 1 night due to the disgraceful state of the house. We were told that we had accepted a small bit of our money back, but we didn't. The Booking said there was nothing more they could do, Disappointed in the property and booking.com, bad customer service.
