About this cabin rental
Immerse yourself in nature at this comfortable and stylish cabin in the woods. Situated on 3.5 acres of oaks and red pines on the shores of Deer Lake, this is the perfect retreat for friends, couples, or young families looking to escape. Only a handful of homes are tucked into the trees around this no-wake lake, and you can enjoy the peaceful environment without the noise and bustle that often comes with a bigger lake.
Pretty much everything is negotiable, so if you have a question about the listing or rules, please ask.
While you can enjoy the privacy our cabin that is hidden away at the end of a long driveway, town is only 5 minutes away, with multiple supper clubs, grocery stores, and other conveniences.
There is great summer recreation a short drive away for golf, boating, hiking, paddling and many other activities. We have over 300 feet of frontage on Deer Lake, which is 15 acres and perfect for canoeing and paddleboarding. Enjoy the unpolluted night sky from the dock and gather around the firepit out in the woods away from the house which is stocked with seasoned firewood. Or roast s'mores at the simple turnkey gas firepit that sits on the deck by the house.
Situated in the center of world class golf, Sand Valley is less than an hour away and Lawsonia is under 30 minutes in the other direction. Two-Oaks North is a family friendly local option (500 yards away) with a vibrant social scene (and a simulator in the wintertime). Kohler and Erin Hills are both under 2hrs driving.
In the wintertime, you can relax by our large gas fireplace and enjoy skiing and sledding at nearby Nordic Mountain (15 minutes). For a more substantial mountain, Granite peak is about 90 minutes away. Snowshoeing, Cross Country, and snowmobiling are also popular when the conditions allow.
Disclosure: we have one camera for security purposes located on the exterior SW corner of the house, facing the driveway. There are no interior cameras or other surveillance throughout the property.

We had a great time at Katie and Tim’s. The home is beautiful and very well appointed. Space is plentiful and well set up for either families or friend groups and the outdoor areas were such a huge bonus. Would recommend if you’re planning to stay in the area!

This house was perfect for our group of nine guys on a golf trip. There was plenty of space and beds for everyone, and the large open living room and kitchen made it easy to relax and hang out together. The home had everything we could possibly need, and we loved the peaceful, tucked-away setting in the woods. The check-in process was a breeze, and Katie and Tim were fantastic to communicate with throughout. We’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Wautoma area—and we can’t wait to stay here again!
