Pondok Indah fit all my requirements, I would definitely stay there again!

Great location, everything I wanted was in walking distance. The gardens and pool - general surrounds were beautiful and impeccably kept. Icy cold Bintang a few steps away! And the staff were lovely :)

The shower head either needed descaling (as did the tiles) or replacing, the flow wasn't great.

Avoid this listing

The nearby beach entrance is closed. The pool was full of chemicals and smelt so strong. The bed was infested with bed bugs and when i told them and asked for insect killer they just gave me air fresher, which did actually help with how bad the room smelt.

Very peaceful quiet retreat

Very peaceful environment, nice pool area with hammocks, sun lounges, communal eating space, beautiful trees. The staff are so friendly, beautiful Balinese people. Their food is very tasty and well priced. Not too far a drive out of the main town, you can walk to a few cafes, shops and mini market but need transportation to get into the hub of town, beaches etc…

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was quite dark and dingy. It was a bit smelly, the bathroom was in quite a bad state, definitely needs attention/renovation. The mattress was very hard, not comfortable for me, perhaps some other rooms are better. Thankfully we only stayed 2 nights. If you want to be amongst the action of Uluwatu it’s a little bit far out, but for a more restful vacation it’s so peaceful. The Grab drivers did find it hard to find the location so it was a bit confusing finding their meeting point.

The room smelled nice when we arrived as the staff had just used room spray. After an hour the smell was rather unpleasant / mouldy. Our AC didn’t work properly and we didn’t have water from 7pm until The next day 1pm. When asked if we could cancel we were told it’s not refundable. The way to the beach was disastrous due to to the fire and demolition going on in bingin.

The rooms are clean and the pool and outdoor areas are delightful.

For the price we paid i was expecting a higher standard. While the rooms are clean they are tired and in need of updating. All our grab drivers found the location difficult to find as did our orginal driver from the airport.

It seemed like we were disturbing the staff by staying at the bungalow. Questions were ignored, the towels and sheets were dirty and some old and on the second day simply missing.

Traditional older style hotel/homestay with lovely garden setting. Great location near Bingin beach. Most staff were friendly and helpful.

Very tired and needing some updating. Linen and towels quite worn. No hand towels or bathmats. The first room allocated to us had a terrible smell and it took some time to resolve/find a suitable room. Unfortunately walking path down to Bingin beach closed at present due to demolition works.

Not comfortable , not good for the value of money

Half of the wall of the bathroom is curtain , there was no window , I didn’t feel safe in the bathroom at all , any one can look at me , any one can enter the bathroom from this curtain , I will add picture to show you what I mean . In my booking .It was mentioned that I would have balcony but there was no balcony . When you look the door of your room , it can be opened little because of the wind , so insects can enter the room easily , I will add picture to show

Not for anyone with a strong sense of smell.

The architecture is traditional which I liked. It is less spacious than the photos show but still beautifully laid out.

The floor of our room was dirty and the pillows and towels and linens smelled so bad that we checked out four nights early. We couldn’t sleep. We told the manager that we were struggling with the bad smell of the pillows and cases, they brought another set but they smelled even worse. There was black particulate matter on the mattress when we arrived. We were worried that it was evidence of bed bugs but the manager said it was from the ceiling. We felt satisfied with this answer and felt that the mattress itself was good, but the mosquito net hanging above our heads was filthy and we didn’t feel great about it raining down dark particles on us while we slept.

Located right next to steps down to Bingin Beach, lots of sun loungers and calm setting. Room was really nice and clean, not too warm either and spacious bathroom.

Only hiccup was the villa being hard to find at first, it is down side roads and only had a small sign so was confusing when using maps to get there.

Quality family run budget hotel

It’s was a good quality budget hotel - clean and comfortable, yummy food with a beautiful pool and a short bike ride away from everything. Communication was quick too. Ticked all the boxes for me!

Location is great! Right above the Bingin beach. you can also walk to other places in Bingin or take a sort Grab. The ladies running the place were nice and helped us with our requests even when they did not like them (e.g extra towel...) The price was kinda right for the facilities but the rating at booking was totally misleading.

Our room was really dated. Mold on the walls, curtains ripped and the bathroom had a really strong humidity smell as there was no ventilation, we had to keep the door open. The bathroom did not have a separate light, all lights on or off so we ended up going to the bathroom with the mobile phone torch :p Pool has way too much chlorine.

The Pura Uluwatu Temple is an iconic seaside pagoda that sits on a cliff, an old temple, where monkeys rule. I immersed myself in local culture at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park, the statue of the Hindu God Wisnu is one of the largest monuments of its type on Earth, Indonesia’s national emblem, with beautiful gardens galleries, nice food, memorable. My homestay, the Pondok Indah was an oasis of culture, peace and family traditional offerings, and thank you for my guide who showed me the true Uluwatu!

Idyllic stay in exotic Balinese Bungalows with charming host and staff, great value for money.

Our 5 nights stay was perfect. The staff did everything they could to make sure that we were comfortable. They even moved us from 1st floor to ground floor on our second day so it would be easier for my wife not having to climb the stairs. We thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings and the home-cooked meals were better than at restaurants.

Very good

The pool and the location are beautifully designed and situated. The rooms are spacious and the food is excellent. Bingin Beach is a mere 5 minutes walk down the slope. Motorbikes can be rented directly from the location and little shops are all in walking distance. A truely sweet spot close to the ocean and all the surfer action.

The bathrooms are something to be worked out. There are solely curtains and a saloon door in the room to separate the bathroom. The sink and the tap is broken or old and leaks. The toilet flush is broken and the cleanliness of the bath in general is missing the stylish quality of the whole outer grandeur of the place.

Beach access before flying home

We only stayed here for 6 hours, before our flight home, so didn’t even sleep there. We walked down to Bingin beach from the bungalow and had a meal and swim at the bungalow which were fine.

Lighting was a limited. Cold shower only.
