I have payed the night around *** yen. The room was clean, staff was great even with foreign visitors struggling with Japanese and the location is perfect literally 5 minutes away from utsonomiya station. However this is definitely an old hotel, you see the age of it in the rooms. It may be a problem for some people.

The place had a good location and the staff tried their best to be helpful, but don't speak any English at all. They did not have English help for air conditioning devices, etc. The sheets and bedding and furniture were clean, however the carpet was quite dirty. I mixed a bit on the location: it was very well placed close to the station and that was helpful. However, there is a karaoke bar across the street and other noisy establishments with patrons coming in and out until four in the morning, which could be very difficult for your sleep. I was at first surprised to be proposition by several prostitutes in the area… I guess close to the train station has a disadvantages… I guess it's a matter of you get what you pay for
