Arrived after hours due to delay in flight but had been assured that was not a problem. Waited an hour on the street in the wee morning hours to be let into the hotel. Once in, they couldn't run my card in this building but was going to run it at another location. Then apparently, they dont take Amex even though we were not told and when they tried to run the card later, it wouldnt go through. Understandably, they need paid for us staying. I get it. But it was 6:30am before we got to our room. We were exhausted. If they didnt take Amex the check in staff should have said and we couldve provided another card immediately. Instead, they started hounding us. It was your mistake, you can't run a card in that particular hotel, you didnt know you didnt take Amex, it was 6:30am, we were exhausted. How about offering to come to us? Despite the check in problem, the hotel was nice and clean; the beds slept well and bathroom shower had nice water pressure. I would stay there again.

This is a ‘classic’ hotel that has largely been renovated with very modern updates. The room we stayed in was spotless and the bed/linens were quality and comfy. Quiet AC and an elevator, which is not common in these older hotels. Street parking right in front or free parking lot nearby. Just two blocks from sea front and 15 minutes walk to Escambron beach. ‘Restaurant’ is really a wine bar but plenty of choices in easy walking distance.
