Kensington Notting Hill View

Location and parking...

Mattresses old and lumpy - ended up sleeping on the lounge and two adults doubling up in one room. One bed surrounded by a wooden frame - ouch! Had to leave at 830am due to parking restrictions. Which was not ideal.

Die Lage der Wohnung war hervorragend. Ruhig gelegen in einer Seitenstraße und doch sehr zentral zum Supermarkt, Restaurants sowie U-Bahn Station. Für uns der perfekte Ausgangspunkt. Die Wohnung war ausreichend für 6 erwachsene Personen. Leider war nur ein Bad vorhanden. Zumindest aber war das WC in einem separaten Raum untergebracht. Die Kommunikation zwischen Gastgeber und uns hat zwar als ein wenig gedauert, aber gut funktioniert.

Die Ausstattung der Küche hätte für 6 Personen etwas umfangreicher ausfallen können. Wir hatten leider nur zwei Pfannen in zwei unterschiedlichen Größen und einen kleinen Topf zur Verfügung. Damit war es etwas schwierig für 6 Personen zu kochen. Aber ansonsten war alles notwendige vorhanden. Schade war, dass zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthalts eine Wohnung renoviert wurde. Dadurch war etwas länger schlafen und mittags ausruhen nicht möglich. Wir haben ein paar Tage vor unserer Anreise noch eine Person dazu gebucht, was auch kein Problem war. Da hätte man uns mit dem Preis vielleicht entgegenkommen können, aufgrund der Renovierungsarbeiten.

Location was fantastic - near the Kensington High St Tube and walking distance to Notting Hill. Very comfortable and clean property.

Very small shower. No air conditioning but that is pretty typical for London and we were there in a heatwave. Very strict rules re noise.

I liked that it had an elevator and the front door to the building locked. The kitchen was small but nice. I like the bathroom tile design.

I rented this flat because it advertised having a washer and dryer, but about 1 week before my arrival I was told it only had a washer, and I would need to hang my clothes to dry. Unfortunately, I was not able to dry my clothes as suggested because the wall heaters would not turn on so I had to find a laundromat. This added an additional cost I should not have had to pay since I paid for it when I rented the flat. The beds were not comfortable. One bed was a spring mattress that caused me to roll to the center. The others were like sleeping on a board. The shower was so small I had to open the door when I dropped the soap. There was on place or room in the shower to place my soap and shampoo. There was no top sheet on any of the beds, the blankets were thin and there weren't enough extra blankets. The bath towels were old and scratchy. Picking up the keys felt shady going to a small convenient store and giving a passcode to the cashier to get them. Then, on the day of my arrival, I was given a "laundry list" of mostly "don'ts" to follow that had I known beforehand I would not have rented this flat. I do not think you should be renting a flat if you expect the renters to not where heels or loud shoes and to keep quiet because the other tenants are not happy that you rent it out.
