Guest House Colonna apt

Posizione perfetta a due passi da Porta Nuova e quindi dal centro storico. Pulizia e servizi essenziali a disposizione. Antonio molto gentile e disponibile anche per il check in anticipato.

Purtroppo vi era un odore molto forte di fogna nella stanza, dato forse dai lavori di ristrutturazione in corso nello stabile.

Forse avrei messo un adesivo sulla porta perché ho provato ad aprirne altre prima di trovarla (avrò capito male io perché il proprietario mi aveva informato)

The property has an industrial look and vibe, the washroom especially and also the light fixtures. It was fully functional and nice and clean, full kitchen with a coffee machine and good coffee, water bottles in fridge on arrival, a small sweet snack as refreshment on arrival. The kitchen is bright and the large windows provide enough sunlight. There is no balcony and the door is locked - the backyard is absolutely dilapidated but that's again a different vibe - The AC's work fine I guess. The host was very friendly, spoke english and was prompt in her responses. She even offered bedsheet cleaning after the second day free of charge and kindly replenished some of the coffee pods on request for no extra cost. The location is great - very close to palazzo dei normanni - so you walk through the arches (Porto Nuova) to the piazza which are literally just 100 m from the property and enter the via Vittoria Emanuelle which is the main shopping street with bistros food, your way to Catedrale di Palermo, Fontana Pretoria and Quattro Canti

I did not like the mattress - a bit lumpy, too soft and uneven with not enough firmness for a good nights sleep. The only windows are those in the kitchen. The water is NOT potable!! Also lots of limescale in the water in the bathroom sink! I probably should have been warned before. If you leave the windows open too long, there maybe mosquitoes and other insects flying in - however, the property provides those mosquitos repellant machines which are already installed on the walls
