The house was absolutely stunning and located just off the Main Street but still private. So much bigger than expected, with gorgeous high ceilings. Everything you could need was provided and the host was so lovely and contactable whenever needed. Couldn’t recommend enough, we will definitely be staying again.

We stayed at Cumberland House for the weekend while taking part in the triathlon, and it was the perfect base. The hosts were fantastic from start to finish. They gave us clear directions to the property, recommended some lovely places to eat, and even accommodated a late check-out, which was so appreciated after race day. The house was spotless, spacious, and especially well set up for families. The large rooms gave us plenty of space, and the thoughtful touches for children, including board games, storybooks, and hooded towels, made travelling with little ones so much easier. We also loved the complimentary chocolates and biscuits waiting for us on arrival. The location was excellent, and having a family-friendly bar next door that welcomed children was a real bonus. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend Cumberland House to anyone visiting Cockermouth, especially families or those taking part in local events like the triathlon.
