Willingham House Hotel

It's a very big manor style house with individual rooms with electronic locks and no real reception. Usable but not a common arrangement. We saw nobody in terms of staff all weekend, just other residents. Looks like it hold small conferences from time to time. Has kitchens - we did not use. Rooms nothing extra great but the walk straight out the back to the garden is just lovely and the real highlight. It is 100% super extra definitely dog friendly though watch that the back garden is not actually fully enclosed - thin corridor round side of house - so supervise pooch.

Nothing to complain about. It was idiosyncratic but lovely. Not sure the main door code worked [hotel please double check it is not out of sync with emails] but the other entrance was open, so no problem.

We loved the easy access from the french doors in our rooms to the back garden, it was peaceful and private. We were able to help ourselves to anything we needed in the kitchen.

Some other guests didn't always clear up after themselves in the main kitchen. One of the French doors would not unlock (during the heatwave) and my mum was very hot in the room as there is no aircon. The bathrooms are not as user-friendly as could be, the sinks are in strange positions.

The hotel was in a quiet village, handy for Ely and Cambridge. Parking in the grounds was easy, as was access to the room using code provided. The room was well equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, and TV offering streaming services. The hotel does not have a food offering, but the local pub serves meals throughout the day. There is also a well stocked coop a short walk away, and a bakers.

The bed was too firm for my preference.

Good Location and off street parking. Nice and dog friendly. Room straight onto the nice lawn outside.

I stayed for two nights and no housekeeping after the first night. Never stayed somewhere that hasn’t happened before. Also only one coffee capsule for the 48hrs! Bathroom was very small. Admittedly it was hot, but being on the ground floor no stopping locks on the windows so you couldn’t sleep with a window or door open. Fan wasn’t provided but it was very weak. Also two single beds put together so a ridge in the middle. Not a very comfortable sleep!
