Casa Viva Eco Lodge

This Eco Lodge was a pure place in Paradise! I am a female solo traveler, came to ring in my 60th birthday to enjoy the Pure Vida life. This place did not disappoint! Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, even some crazy coo-coo bird, echoing through a dense, emerald jungle, the air warm and alive with the crashing sound of the Sea, and tropical blooms. It felt like stepping into a slower, more intentional world. My mornings began with sunlight filtering through open-air walls, no glass needed-just a gentle breeze and the rhythm of nature. Casa Viva is the lush Caribbean side, where the jungle meets untouched beaches. I stayed for a week, and did not rent a car or take a taxi or tour. The days were simple but full, walking through the trails at the Lodge, and the beach all the way to Manzanillo, enjoying the deserted beach, and rhythm of the Sea. I spotted sloths draped lazily in trees, even one with a baby! Entertained by the howler monkeys no matter where I went, Parrots and Carlos even pointed out a Toucan for me. Everything around you is thoughtfully designed to blend in, not take over. You're not just visiting nature, you're part of it. At night, it's a different kind of magic. The sound of the Sea and the steady chorus of insects and frogs. A true paradise here isn't about luxury in the traditional sense. It's about connection-to nature, stillness, and honestly, to yourself.

Wonderful location, very comfortable bungalow, terrific management

We loved it here, it was so immersed in nature we saw more wildlife on site here than what we saw in Cahuita NP!! Gartered and Slaty-tailed trogons, keel-billed and yellow-throated toucans, loads of great green macaws (especially on the almond trees at the beach), loads of tanagers, thrushes and flycatchers, antbirds, blue crabs, agoutis... the room is very nice and the bed was super comfortable. Lots of places to put clothes and bags, a huge hot shower. And a short walk to a private section of beach with included beach beds. Its also private and secure, with a coded car gate and allocated parking in front of all the studios. We definitely recommend this place!
