    The most expensive of our four Philippines destinations was also our best value. Other places called themselves luxury and looked pretty in the pictures, but then felt tired in person and/or or cut corners. Island View felt like a true resort without the crowds. Great beach location, very attentive staff, excellent maintenance and cleaning, and classy facilities from the proper coffee to the jazz selections. Even the little touches like the night lights in bathrooms or the day flowers and tadpoles in the planters, things I would do if it was my space (and I had better design skills haha). Restaurant was pricy but similarly good value with excellent quality ingredients and solid portions. Only regret is not having had a chance to sit down for a drink with the owner and find out more about the stories behind the space (but not much down time travelling with a 5yo). A place I would return and recommend.

    Lovely hotel. No phone in rooms. have to walk to bar to order food for room service with a 15 percent diluvery. no tv. Not sure someone in a wheelchair or elderly couple would make out. A phone is essentially needed for emergency purposes. Says it's a Jazz Bar. Far from that. Old taped music. spend a bit of money. Roads are absolutely crap to get there.
