The location is amazing. I love the look of the building at night with the neon outlines and colors. The access to the beach is phenomenal and the hotel actually hangs over the beach edge so you can set up in the shade and walk directly out to the beach. It's also close to fun little restaurants and we tried quite a few of them. It's on the main drag for the beach cruise scene so you get a lot of traffic and activity--honking, people walking, etc. Immediately next to the hotel is actually the open space access to the beach for the public so you are not crammed with other tourists coming out directly from their hotel rooms--overall a more evenly spaced part of the beach. It felt very easy to enjoy the area from the hotel. If waking up and walking the beach until you can drink a refillable frozen slushy drink and eat steamed seafood, tasty pizza, or awesome Mexican food is your jam......it's a good fit.

Our room smelled strongly of smoke. We contacted the hosts and they offered to send someone to come by and mitigate but we only were there for two days and I wasn't interested in part of that being a coordination to have the smoke mitigated when that should have been done by the cleaner and before the visit. They did have a big air purifyer that did show the air was dirty (red light). We had to leave it on full power which was loud. If we were in the room our noses forgot it smelled but stepping out and back in was upsetting. We also happened to be there when they were doing some kind of massive construction on the roof which included heavy equipment beeping and moving, workmen coming up and down the stairs to powerblow the debri away, a jackhammer on the roof and sledgehammers beating down from the cieling which was loud enough it all felt like it was directly outside our paper thin walls. One day they started at 9am and one day at 8am. It was so loud there was no way to sleep through or even rest in the room while it was happening. We told the hosts and they didn't seem to think that merited any kind of response other than that they can't control what others do in their units. This particular unit is cute but worn out--there were missing outlet covers, a moldy shower curtain, and old door that was disolving due to moisture. So, over all, just a lot of cheap fixes that are going un-taken care of. The coffee pot is basic and burns the coffee, the coffee they had was not of any kind of good quality on top of that. So, overall a place to stay that is decently clean and fine but after noticing the amenities through the windows of the other units, I would say grab another more updated unit if the price is no object to you.
