This spacious apartment is a lower level studio with a double bed, well-equipped kitchen, shower room and outdoor patio. It looks like it was recently renovated. The air conditioning works well. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, full hob and conventional oven, washing machine and dining table, with lots of cutlery and utensils. There is some storage space for clothing and a large desk, plus a sofa and chairs. The large screen TV has internet connectivity and there is Wi-Fi. Outside is a small patio table with chairs. The location is very convenient for the city centre, which is about ten minutes away by foot if you take a shortcut behind the apartment (actually, right behind the nearby Eko petrol station). There’s a hill but after that, it’s level and takes you right to the square near the entrance to the city’s pedestrian area and the archaeological museum. You can also walk right up to the main road to the airport, where there is a bus stop with a ticket machine (Bus 1 goes to the airport in about ten or fifteen minutes; note that there are different numbers for buses coming from the airport). This stop is only a five-minute walk away, and the intercity bus station (KTEL) is across the street.

The convenient location to the airport comes at a price, which is some aircraft noise, along with road noise. There is also some occasional noise from construction work next door. The house number for the street address, 101, was not included in the instructions and this could be a problem for taxi drivers. I recognised the house from photos on some reviews and Google street view, so I knew where it was (to the left of WorkForce). The washing machine is labelled in Greek and there are no English instructions. I would recommend adding some basic instructions. From my experience, the turbo wash is the fastest (do not use the eco wash). It would have been helpful to have some instructions for the ‘smart TV’ as well.

Das Appartment war groß und sehr gut ausgestattet. Zentrale Lage. Das Zentrum von Iraklion und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten waren zu Fuß erreichbar, so dass wir das Auto lediglich für die Fahrt nach Knossos benutzt haben. Kurze Anfahrt vom Flughafen. Problemlose Kommunikation und Schlüsselübergabe.

Das Appartment liegt an einer gut befahrenen Straßen, so dass der Verkehrslärm durchaus zu hören ist. Parkplatzsuche war nicht ganz einfach.

Check in was complicated and without clear instruction Also. The shower hose holder was broken so I had to use alternate hands to shower There was no shampoo so I used the hand moisturising soap The accommodation has noise , the fridge freezer is position next to the bed so switches on/ off during the night There is road noise through day and night Also beware there is building work going on in the next building…which will continue for weeks ; I I understand it is not of the owners making but it does not make for a comfortable stay
