"La Maison des Sablettes" Vue Mer et Centre

Die Lage direkt in dieser wunderschönen Altstadt mit direktem Blick auf das Meer war unglaublich schön. Das Appartement mit 2 Schlafzimmern war super ausgestattet mit Abwaschmaschine, Waschmaschine, Geschirr, Sonnenschirme für an den Strand und alles was man sonst noch so braucht. Durch die offenen Fenster und dem Wind vom Meer war uns selbst im Juli/ August nicht heiss in der Wohnung. Wunderschöne Dusche mit grossem Duschkopf und schönem Wasserstrahl. Die Kommunikation mit der Verwaltung war äusserst unkompliziert, zeitnah und sehr sehr freundlich. Leider haben wir am Schluss das Trinkgeld für das Reinigungspersonal vergessen. Dafür möchte ich mich ganz herzlich entschuldigen.

A cute little apartment, well-equipped and comfortable. Loved the view across the sea into Italy. Located in the old town just a short distance from the iconic stairway up to the cathedral.

Wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility problems. It is at the top of an old building in the old part of town, with steep, narrow stairs

This apartment is a truly remarkable place in the heart of Menton’s Old Town. The views are simply breathtaking — overlooking the promenade, the sea, and the mountains. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was absolutely priceless. The apartment is located on a charming, picturesque street, and the windows face both sides of the building, bringing in plenty of light and atmosphere. Everything needed for a comfortable stay and for preparing meals has been thoughtfully provided. The beach is just a short walk away, and we especially appreciated that beach equipment was available for guests to use. The check-in process was very easy thanks to the detailed video instructions sent in advance. The staircase is the small price to pay for such spectacular views. My 70-year-old mother managed the stairs without any major difficulty, as there are convenient handrails and good lighting. The apartment is bright, stylish, cozy, and full of character. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

The Location is almost unbeatable. It's located close to two of the most popular beaches. Les Sablettes and Plage du Marché. Les Sablettes is closer but is also more crowded. The communication was superb. The response came back almost immediately. And the handover of the Apartment went smoothly with no problems.

Unfortunately there are numerous downsides - I don't want to mention the stairs and the parking problem since this should be known as it is written all over and when you grapple with the city you want to spend your vacation in, you should be knowing what to expect :-) - unfortunately no A/C. Fans were provided, but did absolutely nothing - the Apartment was not clean. I don't know what the cleaning team does, but vacuuming is definitely not part of it. Just like mopping the floor. Since we want to have it clean and neat, we always buy stuff to desinfect and clean in general. So one wipe on the floor and the cloth was black. That's really unfortunate. But maybe we are too sensitive. I really don't know. - the washing machine is moldy. Not just a little bit. Black mold is visible as soon as you open the lid. This can't be healthy - the drains stink badly. Very bad. Maybe it's old drains in an old house. But we've stayed in multiple Apartments in Menton over the last years, and this has never been the case. - there is almost no place to dry the laundry. We found a little rack, but it holds hardly any clothing. Especially for a family of 4 - the dishwasher did not clean the dishes properly. The water came out cold. Don't know why. Did not want to ask and bother the owners. Maybe it was my fault. Maybe should've turned on the faucet (which is what you need to to be able to use the washing machine). But we washed the dishes by hand. Was no deal-breaker though. Overall we did not really have a good time being in the Apartment. Wanted to spent as little time as possible inside. This rating should not come around as a rant. We could've chose to contact the owners and complain. But we didn't. So we dealt with what we had. Which was possible. Maybe just take better care of this facility. It could be really great - with some reservations.
