We stayed at SHOWRAI-AN looking for an authentic Japanese experience, and that is exactly what we got.
This is a traditional old Japanese house, full of character and atmosphere. The vintage furniture and classic design really make you feel connected to the history and style of the place. While the age of the house is definitely noticeable, that is also part of its charm.
What made the experience especially interesting was the contrast between the traditional living spaces — such as the kitchen and lounge area — and some more modern touches, like the toilets. It created a unique blend of old and new.
Overall, it was a cozy and memorable stay, and we truly appreciated the opportunity to experience a more authentic side of Japan.
