Vineyard Retreat in the Heart of McLaren Vale

Nice spacious house with everything we needed. Close walking distance to some of the top wineries in the area. We did Daily Grind for coffee, to Angove Wines to Alpha Box and Dice to D'arenberg to Chalk Hill/Never Never all in a day with ease. Pizzateca is also a reasonable walk away if you are somewhat fit. Beds were comfy and the house had great heating/cooling. Nice renovated bathrooms and kitchen area. Karaoke set up was great.

Pool would be nice if it was heated but was still refreshing to have a dip/cold plunge anyway. House manual needs to be clearer and more informative.

Great space for a family

Would have been nice if the pool was heated

Great location and great amenities, with 3 bathrooms it meant us couples staying didn’t have to wait long to get showered and ready. The karaoke room was a lot of fun.

There were lots (and I mean lots) of earwigs. I understand this is part of rural stays, however they were in our bed and one of our guests was nipped by one during the night. Some barrier spray would help keep them out. Additionally, the pool area was full of clutter which unfortunately meant it was a great place for snakes to hide. We did encounter a brown snake on the first day so we did not use the pool at all. Furthermore the pool didn’t seem to be clean. The double bed felt as hard as a dining table. Not comfortable for the couple that slept in there at all. General dust and bug clean up before we arrived seemed to have been missed.
