Oxenberry Farm

Very well equipped cottage. Great location, walking distance to town.

Everything was great.

The location was really good, it is on the same site as the cellar door. You can go on a nice walk around the area and not too far to drive to other wineries or weekend markets in surrounding areas. There was also plenty of ubers if you don't want to drive around the area.

It was confusing when booking the place, didn't realise that there was two separate buildings so the photos we saw were for the other cottage which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless the cottage we were in was quite nice, however it was also unclear that we would not have access to the second bedroom. I was staying with a friend and we thought we had booked a two bedroom cottage, however when we arrived there was a note on the door saying we would be charged extra costs for using the second bedroom as we were only two people. I felt this was quite unfair as we booked the two bedroom cottage thinking it was going to be two bedrooms. I think this needs to be removed to be honest. Despite all this the place was really cute. The only other thing was that we thought that the cellar door would provide food as it said so online. But it turns out they closed their kitchen and are no longer providing food. They did do nice coffee though.

Great location and clean.

There was no kitchenette which meant that every meal needed to be eaten out and any dishes you had from snacks needed to be washed up in the bathroom sink or bath which wasn’t ideal. There was no couch to relax on so it felt like we couldn’t relax in the cottage unless we sat in bed. The outdoor setting could have been more inviting to sit in the porch area and enjoy the outdoor space.

The kitchen is well fitted out. Wifi is good.

The location is awkward. The cottage is sandwiched between a wine tasting room/cafe and a main road. We returned home one afternoon to find a local cyclist sitting on our porch. There is car and truck noise early mornings on the main road. The double bed is a little tight for a longer stay. We left a day early.
