Secret Garden Studio in the Heart of McLaren Vale

Secret Garden is a spacious garden studio with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable with helpful hosts. I especially liked the beautiful bed linen, comfortable pillows and bath towels.

Central location close to McLaren Vale CBD. Very clean. No grit on the floor. Well provisioned kitchen. Large smart TV. Easy street parking. Quiet.

The high-gabled roof meant the area was very difficult to heat with an ageing reverse air-conditioner. We were cold the whole time we were there. The bed coverings were barely warm. The “rug” on the lounge was only a light linen throw. The lounge was old and the feather-stuffed cushions had lost all their ability to support your back. It was like sitting on a cast-iron bench. All the fittings were cheap and ageing badly. Hated the nylon curtain on the shower which had low pressure and was difficult to turn off. No room on the basin for your toiletries. Sliding door into the bathroom via a wardrobe area was sticking all the time. The “secret” garden was an absolute mess. Yes, I know this area has been suffering a drought. Plants were ripped and stripped by either high winds or a snail plague. You certainly didn’t want to sit out there. This property needs a serious re-vamp.
