This is a beautiful Cornish cottage, with all the charm but beautifully decorated and with all modern conveniences. There were lots of amenities in the kitchen and a wonderful welcome pack in a beautiful bag with Cornish local delights, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch as we arrived very late (11 pm) due to traffic with a toddler, so having a little milk etc. to welcome us was honestly such a godsend. There was a very thorough booklet on how to use everything in the cottage including instructions on the tv boiler, and outhouse for rubbish. But also information on the history of the property and everything in the area, which I enjoyed having available.
I hate to write anything negative as we genuinely enjoyed our stay, but for balance I wanted to mention a few points. We arrived at around 11pm and turned the heating on straight away, but the heating didn't seem to come on despite the audible click on the dial the cottage did not seem to heat up until the very early hours of the morning. Luckily, we found a dusty portable heater under the stairs and used this on the landing, which helped, but hunting for thr boiler and then a solution ment didn't get to sleep until around 1am. I shared a bed with our toddler to keep him warm while my partner slept in another room with the doors open to circulate heat. I was also a little concerned about safety having a portable heater on overnight. We tried calling the office numbers listed in the welcome book and online the following morning, as we wondered if the heating may have been set to a timer, but unfortunately we were unable to reach anyone. We spend most of the weekend looking for the boiler and never found it. Nor keys to the outhouse described in the book. My only other feedback would be that the cottage is excessively furnished. It is exactly as you would expect, quaint, charming and full of character, but each bedroom contained wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables, trunks and chairs, which made moving around quite difficult and left the rooms feeling cramped. We ended up moving some items into the spare room just to create a little more space and avoid tripping. Likewise downstairs, while the ornaments were lovely and in keeping with the cottage, there were lot, and delicate. With a toddler and a dog, I spent the first morning carefully moving things into cupboards to avoid accidents. In a smaller cottage space, it felt quite easy to knock something over. It a beautiful cottage but cluttered. The kitchen was burst with utensils, which was fantastic but the only practical item we felt was missing was a decent frying pan.

Location was just what we wanted right in the middle of port Issac. Cottage was all that we needed and very comfortable
The rubbish bins outside hadn't been emptied so nowhere to put the our rubbish. Left in cottage as didn't want to leave out with the seagulls!

Nothing.

Location was great and the cottage was as we expected.
Information regarding the facilities and back door key were incorrect - the key was neither in the back door nor on a hook near the back door as described in the information folder. I sent 2 emails requesting advice on where the key was - no answer. I did locate it about 20 minutes before my departure - in an envelope near some business letters relating to the cottage. I wanted access to the laundry facilities while we were there and was unable to do my washing. A realistic outline regarding where to park my vehicle would have been helpful. The distance and steep gradient between the car park at the top of the hill and the cottage at the harbour was a challenge.
