Laguna de Apoyo is truly a paradise location. Birds and sometimes monkeys and iguanas coming close.The next door hotel is not functioning, so the place is quite calm.Swimming in the Laguna is a incredible treat!Unfortunately 'La Giralda' really needs investment and renovation.The air conditioning is so noisy that it is impossible to use. We had to do with the old clicking ceilings fans.Rudimentary kitchen.Don't expect to use the kayaks, the owner forgets to say that the seats are broken.Also, it is not a house but 2 bedrooms and a kitchen on a terrace. Ok during dry season.The owner has his house just above. And one discovers on arrival that there is a 2 children young family living in a shack and watching the place opening / closing the gate.( '' kind of '' expecting tips )Another untold discovery : be prepared to pay a daily tax of 50 every time you access the lake. The pool looks nice on the photo but it is very small - deep up to the knees - and on the owner's part. No pumping system, just a chlorine diffusing float.As often in Nicaragua: no hot water in the kitchen nor the shower, no electric kettle and no flat sheet.So, to sum up : don't expect any comfort but the location is incredibly beautiful !
