About this house rental
This traditional vacation home is located on the Maurangfjord, right on the water. A 20 PS motorboat with a tiller or a 25 PS boat with a steering wheel can be rented separately. This dream home leaves nothing to be desired for vacationers in Norway who want to stay right on the fjord, as it is just a few meters from the dock and the boat. Despite its immediate waterfront location, you’re just a short distance from the Folgefonna Glacier and countless hiking trails set amid magnificent natural scenery. Hikes to the Bondhusbreen glacier tongue can therefore begin right from the house.
The vacation home is built of wood, with large windows facing the fjord. From this vacation home and its porch, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of the deep-blue fjord and the mountains rising from it. In spring and fall, vacationers marvel at the massive, snow-capped mountain peaks that look as if they’ve been dusted with powdered sugar.

This house radiates warmth and coziness the moment you step inside. The entryway is spacious and open. From here, a door leads to the first bedroom on the first floor, which is furnished with a bunk bed and a single bed.
The spacious, open living area features a modern sofa area and a wood-burning stove. On cold days, the wood-burning stove ensures cozy temperatures. The large dining table is perfect for larger groups to gather comfortably. A counter separates the kitchen from the living area but allows for plenty of interaction while cooking.
A wide staircase leads to the first floor. Here you’ll find two tastefully furnished bedrooms, each with a double bed. The open loft provides the fifth sleeping area on the upper floor.
The sparse landscaping between the houses—featuring trees and shrubs—provides enough privacy to feel comfortable on the large terrace. When the weather is nice, enjoy your meals outdoors with a view of the fjord and mountains. Right next to the terrace is the boat dock where the motorboat is moored.
Personal flotation devices can be found in the annex at the back of the house. Here you can also store your fishing gear or dry wet clothes. A freezer and a grill are also located in this room.

Fishing in the Maurangerfjord
The Maurangerfjord is excellent for fishing and offers plenty of great opportunities to hook a fish here. You can gut your freshly caught fish at the fish-cleaning station on the boat dock and prepare it for cooking. There are several spots nearby where you can fish for salmon. There are salmon rivers in Sunndal, Ænes, and Uskedal. There are other salmon-bearing rivers as well, though they are a bit farther away. You can fish for salmon for free at Furebergfossen, which lies between Ænes and Sunndal.
One kilometer from Fjordhytte 4–7 in the direction of the Folgefonn Tunnel is a stream that flows into the fjord. Large salmon are frequently caught at the bridge. However, you must purchase a fishing license. The price is approximately NOK 100.- per day. The mountain lake “Botnavatnet,” which is accessible on foot from Sunndal, is a true hidden gem. Here you can fish for trout for free without a fishing license. It is secluded, located about 800 meters above sea level. It takes about 2 hours to reach on foot.
New Fishing Regulations for Fishing Tourism in Norway: Fjordhytte-6 is registered as a specialized tourism fishing business, so you are permitted to export fish from Norway.

Fantastic location by the fjord. Good, spacious cabin. Close to attractions such as Bondhusdalen and Baroniet Rosendal.

This was a perfect location for our trip exploring Folgefonna National Park, Trolltunga, and the glaciers. The fjord front cabin was spacious and clean with a nice deck to enjoy the scenery. Overall we did have a great stay, but there were a few things to note for non-EU residents: there were 2 pre-payments required that needed to go through EU bank transfers, which made it a little difficult if you don't have a EU bank account; you need to pay extra for bedding and towels; there are almost no amenities (no dishwashing pods, laundry detergent, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, paper towels, extra toilet tissue, etc..); the check-out time is earlier than most places at 9:00am on check-out day. The location was perfect however and we enjoyed the cabin, I just think it would have been good to know some of things we needed ahead of time either in listing or through a communication before check-in so we knew what to expect and prepare for.
