The Paddock

Nous sommes restés 6 nuits. Nous avons beaucoup appréciés la localisation entre au nord Galway et le Connemara et au sud le Burren, mais aussi le calme. Margaret est très gentille et accueillante, elle nous a apporté plusieurs fois des desserts. L’appartement est confortable et très bien équipé.

The accomodation is situated in a quiet and pretty location, 5 minutes drive from the charming little town of Gort, which has all the facilities you could wish for, including a good selection of cafes and restaurants which are very handy for breakfast before setting off for the day to explore the area. Within easy reach are the famous Burren, the lovely coastline with quaint little harbours and places to try the local seafood (ask Margaret for suggestions), and the historic city of Galway, with its busy harbour. A little further afield is stunning Connemara, to which we hope to return. The accomodation itself is modern and comfortable, with everything you need as a base for touring. Margaret, the hostess is lovely and made us feel very welcome. She thoughtfully provided us with home baked treats upon our arrival, and she gave us some wonderful recommendations for places to visit during our stay. We will definitely be returning next year, and I highly recommend The Paddock to anyone looking to visit the area. Very good value for money!

It was perfect for our stay, and we have no criticism. The only thing I would mention is that the little access road has a sharp "S"bend underneath a railway bridge which is blind. Just remember to take this slowly and stay well over to the left and you will be OK. (I gave a judicious little toot on the horn each time I approached just to warn approaching vehicles from the opposite direction.)
