Dionysis was an excellent host who went over and above to ensure our trip was a success. From answering questions before our trip to providing excellent recommendations during our holiday. The apartment was just what we needed. A quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The location is quiet and you do need a car or taxis to get further than the beach front. However with the beach within 3 mins walk, a lovely beach bar serving food and coffees, it was a great place to escape. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished, the bathroom is fantastic with a luxury shower and the beds are so comfy! We also enjoyed both the balcony and roof terrace for sunshine all day. The apartment has a small kitchen for cooking, a table with tall chairs to enjoy a meal, air conditioning throughout and the upstairs bedroom also has a small en-suite/wet room with toilet and handheld shower head.

We stayed at the very start of the season (mid-May) so facilities in Palaiokastro were just opening up. Meaning for the first couple of days we needed to travel to find supplies and restaurants. Not a complaint, but something to be aware of if you are travelling out of season.

It was really modern and well equipped, and the design was absolutely gorgeous.

De accommodatie is nieuw, schoon en netjes. Mooie badkamers en airconditioning in het hele huis zodat het lekker koel blijft. We verbleven met vijf ipv vier personen, dit kan wel als je veel buiten bent, maar de kamer/ keuken is hier niet op ingericht. Perfecte locatie als je Hiraklion wil bekijken.

Het dorpje beviel minder, geen voorzieningen als een bakker oid en het “rustige” strandje bleek heel druk. We zijn verderop gaan zwemmen bij Fodele beach, hier is volop ruimte en parkeergelegenheid. Het enige restaurant wat er in dit plekje staat is ronduit slecht, Taverna Zacharis, hier niet naar toe gaan.
