Alba Cottage, Whitstable

Been here twice now and already thinking about booking again. We love the location, we had a few family members staying down the same street and this cottage was by far the best.

If I absolutely had to pick, the bed is hard and the pillows too big but that is it!! I slept fine still!

Attractive beautifully decorated and presented terraced cottage with secluded small sunny garden at the rear. Clever layout maximises the space inside with a comfortable living room and a galley kitchen with a dining table. One double bedroom and another with two single beds. The cottage is well furnished and equipped. Cosy, convenient position in walking distance of high street and harbour, etc. Very close to the railway station with fast and frequent trains to London.

I know we have had a very warm summer but the cottage was unbearably hot especially at night. The windows are all fitted with restrictors, so ventilation is minimal. No fans were provided. Car parking is a nightmare! Travel by public transport if you can - it is only a short walk to the railway station. There is almost no provision for clothes storage. No wardrobe, not even a hanging rack. This was fine for us as we only stayed one night, but for a longer stay living out of a bag would be difficult. Finally, the downside of the proximity to the town centre is that the road was surprisingly noisy late at night as groups of drunken people made their way home very loudly.

This house was perfect. It was very modern, very clean and beautifully presented. The garden was a lovely sitting area with two places to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. The kitchen was exceptionally well kitted with plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery. There are two great sitting rooms and two bedrooms with an upstairs bathroom which was ideal for us. The property is a hop skip and a jump from the town centre and beach. We will book again next time we are in Whitstable

Comfortable, well-modernised cottage with easy access to the town and sea.

Not a criticism but a comment. High, deep bath not user-friendly for anyone with mobility problems.
