Der Gastgeber Younnes war sehr nett und hat sogar nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung bei mir ist. Die Lage war super, direkt hinter der Medina. Rund herum hat es diverse kleine Geschäfte und auch Gemüse und Obst Stände ganz in der Nähe.

Das Einzige, was ich bemängeln könnte ist die Ausstattung. Es hat was man braucht, aber z.B. Pfannenwender fehlen komplett. Da ich jeden Tag Frühstück gemacht habe, hat das schon gefehlt. Es könnte noch etwas mehr Liebe in die Details gesteckt werden ;-)

The owner contacted me via WhatsApp before my arrival to make sure everything went smoothly. In my case, I was able to check in early, and she was kind enough to accommodate that request. The co-owner, Younous, who handed over the keys, was a very friendly, charming, and helpful person. The apartment had everything needed for a comfortable stay: it was not too hot inside, had a TV, some basic kitchen utensils, and towels were provided. The twin bed was comfortable, and there were two additional beds, making it suitable for a family of four. It may not be at the same standard as modern European apartments, but for Morocco it feels quite modern and well-maintained. In terms of value for money, it is an excellent choice. The location is convenient, and if you enjoy hearing the call to prayer from nearby mosques, you’ll probably appreciate the atmosphere even more. :)

Of course, there are still a few things that could be improved to reach the standards of some European accommodations. However, the owner is genuinely open to feedback, takes suggestions seriously, and is continuously looking for ways to improve the guest experience.

Excellent location by the best fruit and veg market in Essaouira, next to a mosque. Apartment clean, nicely decorated and when I asked for things missing from the kitchen e.g. bowls, the host provided them. I also needed extra towels and was given them, no problem. I especially appreciated the small heater, as I stayed in winter and that really took the chill off so I could sleep. Few homes in Morocco are insulated against cold weather, as sunny days are usually the norm. NB: There are 3 apartments in the building. I stayed in Apt 2. The best one is at the top, next to the roof terrace.

There is only 1 plug socket in the living room/kitchen area, but 3 in the bedroom! Not practical for me, as I teach online. It's also nearly impossible to ventilate the property, as there is only 1 small sliding window in the bedroom and the kitchen/living area is enclosed, with another sliding window that opens on to an inner staircase, not to daylight or fresh air. Only 1 mirror in the bedroom, not full length. Would have appreciated a full length mirror in the bedroom. Communication between guests, the host and her manager needs serious improvement. I had to let 2 sets of tourists in, as no one was there to meet them. When I booked, I had no news for 2 days from the host. Money left my account and I was completely ignored. Phone numbers on the site do not match the owner's contact details.

Perfectly clean, spacious and nicely decorated apartment. As we travelled during december the heater was a great plus to warm the room a bit. The kitchen has necessary kitchen ware to prepare breakfast. Location is great, it's a bit outside of medina so street is not that busy and you can buy fruits for much better price near by than in medina. I'd say it's a great value for money.
