The location is perfect if you want to explore the old town of Safranbolu. Historic Cinci Han Kervansaray is right in front of the hotel. Hidirlik Tepesi (Hill) is within walking distance and so is Kent Historic Museum and Tarihi Saat Kulesi (historic clock tower). Another plus point is that the Konak building is located in a relatively flat area where taxi can park right in front of it, making it easy to carry your luggage to the room, in case your luggage is heavy. Some other hotels require you to "climb" before reaching the lobby as the terrain there is very hilly. As the room I booked was not occupied the night before, I could check in as early as 8:30 AM without extra charge. Normal check in time is 12:00.

The windows are not air-tight. Cold air enters through the small window gap, making the room a bit too cold for me. As I stayed in September, heater was not operational. However, the temperature did drop to 13 C (55 F) at night.

A historic building in the center of the city, very clean, nice hosts, good and varied breakfast, we also ate a delicious dinner at the restaurant on the ground floor, parking in front.
