The Digeskolen (Danish for “Dike School”) in Vollerwiek was originally built in 1930 as a school building and kindergarten for the Danish minority on the Eiderstedt Peninsula. The building is a listed historic structure and has been transformed into a modern vacation apartment building in recent years through an extensive renovation. This has created an exciting and striking contrast between old and new. With great respect for the tradition and history of this historic property, the building has been brought up to 21st-century standards. Inside Digeskolen, you’ll find a modern, renovated, and redesigned living space in the premium segment.

Ideal for a family of four, this 62 m² apartment features a bedroom, a children’s room, a living room, a high-end kitchen, a bathroom flooded with natural light, and a separate restroom.
With a south-facing terrace, this ground-floor unit—featuring a ceiling height of 3.20 m typical of older buildings—is exceptionally well-lit. The height of the former classrooms and the particularly high skylights create a spectacular influx of natural light. Two bedrooms (a double bed in the master bedroom, a bunk bed in the children’s room) and a stylish shower room with a walk-in shower are designed with the latest construction standards. This apartment features a separate toilet. The beautiful living-dining area can comfortably seat and accommodate up to four people.

The apartment features its own spacious wooden deck with a perfect south-facing orientation and access to the large garden with sweeping views of the marshland, including sun loungers and a dining set.

A maximum of one dog is allowed (for a fee), and the pet is not permitted on the sofa and/or in the bed. Please book only if you accept these restrictions.

The apartment features a south-facing terrace and access to the spacious garden with sweeping views of the marshland. Digeskolen has enough parking spaces on the property for all guests.

There are no immediate neighbors—pure tranquility.

For bookings of more than 14 days, we offer a 10% discount; for one month or longer, a 15% discount.

Live streaming of movies (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) at a satisfactory speed is sometimes possible, but cannot be guaranteed consistently. However, other activities such as browsing the web, checking email, and downloading movies for later offline viewing, etc., are possible at a moderate speed.

During summer vacation, the minimum booking period for our apartments is one week.
