Vacant Nests Beamish Cottage Museum - WIFI

The owner refused to give me the code until I paid a waiver. Eventually after numerous phone calls from my family and a friend and myself they answered the phone. My brother and I both in our 70s had to wait in the cold from 3pm to 6.30 ish until he gave the code to my daughter. It was horrendous and spoiled our few days. We did not feel like we had much help from booking.com.... once our payment was made it said that was all we had to pay. Will think twice about booking in this way again but once into the property it was good. Thankyou

Location to Beamish - a 15 min walk. Local bus stop close by.

The back yard is very untidy, with rubbish likely from passers by thrown over the wall. A small bin should be upstairs for rubbish too.

The location was perfect for us as we were visiting Beamish, it was only a short walk. The property was clean and had everything we needed for our self catering stay.

There could be a clock in the lounge and maybe a couple of lamps (we brought the lamps down from the bedrooms). There were no bins upstairs in the bathroom or bedrooms and we were unable to take our rubbish out when we left as the bin in the back yard was already full.

Location was fab, middle of everything we needed, house itself was lovely, dining area was lovely and beds were very comfy

We were a family of 5 and there was only room in the living room for 3 people to sit so 2 of us either sat on the floor or in the dining room, there was only 3 mugs so we had to buy another 2, when we arrived the place was very dusty, we had to wipe down everything including the window blinds! The back garden had an empty beer bottle and fag ends everywhere and there were nail clippings in one of the bedroom drawers, we had to make shift a bin for the bathroom
