Neat and well set out lodge. Good size and layout for a short family break in Wales. Good position for key attractions and short walk into Caernarfon. Decent hot tub and shower.
Did not look like it has had a good clean in a while. Worktops, edge of sink, socket outlets, bathroom etc were covered with a thin layer of grime. Never a good first impression! Needed to spend the first morning cleaning everything properly. Floor was also pretty grubby. Told the staff and was presented with a mop. Would have expected them to offer to clean it themselves.
Mattress was fairly comfy but pillows were incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. They need replacing.
No lock on bathroom door and quite a big gap visible through the door into the shower.
Area was quite noisy through the night. Outdoor lighting contactors clicking on and off repeatedly at dusk and dawn next to bedroom window. Next to a fire station so alarms often heard. Bins next to lodge were emptied multiple times at the early hours. Glass bottle bin emptied at 5am one morning which I thought was ridiculous?
Quite difficult to keep the lodge cool on summer nights even with windows open.
Upper bunk bed is not safe. Massive gap between barrier and mattress which any child will slip through. They did provide a portable bed rail after I complained which solved the problem.

The size was good and location was only a 10 minute walk to town centre. Beds were extremely comfortable.
Think it would be better to be told that you might need some type of shoes to get to and from the hot tub as it’s all slate and stone from the decking round to the hot tub.
