Charming apartment - 1BD-4P - Gare du Nord

The location was very good, as it was so close to Gare du Nord. The apartment itself was excellent. It was spotlessly clean and had all the necessary equipment. It was also tastefully decorated and very comfortable with a good size television. These facts alone would have warranted a score of at least 9 out of 10.

We would like to have received the access instructions earlier. Whereas we stayed close to Gare du Nord for simplicity, we found on arrival that we had to walk quite a distance with our luggage to collect the key after travelling for 10 hours. The collection point was badly lit and it wasn't easy to bring up the code to unlock the box. When we returned to the apartment with the key, we couldn't gain access using the code provided in the instructions. We had to rely on someone going into the property, who told us that the code was, in fact, incorrect. Had we not had such help from the French people who live/stay there, we could have been waiting outside the door indefinitely. Also the instructions did not mention that we could have gained access using the green fob, something with which we are unfamiliar. The experience was very stressful, something we didn't want on holiday. To add to this, the wifi provided wasn't shown on the list displayed on my computer, so we have to assume this was also incorrect. This meant we have had to give a lower score than otherwise would have been the case. It wouldn't put us off staying there again provided the necessary improvements are made. We hope that what we have written will be seen as constructive.

Die Größe des Appartements ist für zwei bis drei Personen perfekt. Die Ausstattung ist kein Luxus oder Designer-Level, aber vollkommen ausreichend. Zudem ist es sehr ruhig - Innenhof-Lage und direkt im 1. Obergeschoss. Die Lage ist perfekt, man ist schnell am Gare du Nord oder am Gare de l'Est, sowie zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus schnell in der Rue de LaFayette oder am MontMartre! Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten zum Einkaufen, Frühstücken oder Abendessen in der direkten Nähe der Unterkunft. Trotz der Nähe zu den Bahnhöfen fühlt man sich in der Rue de Maubeuge sicher - auch am späten Abend oder in der Nacht.

Das Doppelbett, bzw. die Matratze ist ziemlich durchgelegen. Nach mehr als zwei Nächten ist das Schlafen mit Rückenschmerzen verbunden, das sollte dringend verbessert werden. Ansonsten fehlte Seife in den Seifenspendern, Duschkopf hing und war nicht festzustellen, Duschen war schwierig, zudem lief das Wasser in der Dusche sehr langsam ab. Naja, und die Schlüsselabholung / -übergabe (haben andere ja auch schon hier beschrieben) ist etwas umständlich. Mein Tipp, wenn man nicht alleine reist, vom Bahnhof kommt und Koffer dabei hat, sollte eine Person schon mal mit den Koffern vor der Haustür des Wohnhauses / neben dem Kiosk stehenbleiben und warten, während eine andere Person die Straße hinab läuft (circa 350 Meter), um die Schlüssel aus dem Kasten eines anderen Hausflurs zu holen. Nach 10 Stunden Anreise (war bei uns so) wünscht man sich zwar eine Begrüßung oder einfach nur einen Schlüssel in die Hand zu bekommen, aber dieses System scheint ja auch zu funktionieren. Sofern, der Türcode stimmen und der Schlüssel auch im Kasten bereitliegt - was bei uns leider nicht der Fall war. Wir mussten 15 Minuten per WhatsApp hinundher schreiben, bis ein "Manager" kam und uns den Schlüssel gebracht hat. "Entspannt ankommen" ist etwas anderes, aber am Ende hat alles geklappt und der "Manager" war sehr freundlich. Mein Vorschlag wäre, ihn als Concierge und Schlüsselmeister zu engagieren, damit man von einem Menschen empfangen wird, statt von einer E-Mail mit Anweisungen, die am Ende nicht richtig funktioniert haben. Update: 6.April 2026. Der Manager der Vermietungsfirma hat mich per WhatsApp angeschrieben und mitgeteilt, dass die Matratzen nun direkt nach unserem Aufenthalt ausgetauscht worden sind und der Duschkopf wieder in Ordnung ist. Wenn man jetzt noch die Schlüsselübergabe kundenfreundlicher gestalten würde, wäre die Wohnung perfekt!

Excellent location, exceptionally clean. Well stocked and good facilties for adults. Very quiet - couldn't hear any street noise.

The travel cot didn't have any sheets or mattress so was unusable in the end. The elevator is very small so if travelling with a stroller you may not be able to use the elevator. I would not recommend this for a young family nor travelling with a baby, however I would recommend if it you are adults

Location is great, close to the railway station, grocery shop, cafes. The area is quiet and cosy. The apartment is very comfortable and equipped fully to meet all requirements. Spacious kitchen and main room and surprisingly the bedroom)))

We would have appreciated to get check-in elaborate instructions in advance to familiarise with them in home comfort rather than after the arrival at the airport using mobile phone.
