Wander Through the Woods

The location and facilities were absolutely outstanding. The indoor pool was a surprise for us, and made the experience all the more fun. The backyard is completely fenced in, which was great for having dogs, and has both a grill and a blackstone griddle. There is also a nice trail system connected to the back of the property; we hiked out to the airport in a nice ~1.5 mile loop. The property has 2 great fire rings, which I inquired about before booking, but never got a response (see below for other communication issues). The kitchen is well equipped, but there are no spices other than salt. 3 of us spent the first day working remotely, and were all able to use the wifi for email, meetings, etc. without issue.

The biggest issue we ran into was very poor communication from the management company. I messaged them through booking.com, and texted their number requesting a late checkout, but never received a response to either message. I then called another number for the company, which thankfully was picked up. I asked about the late checkout (they were unable, but not a big deal), and a small issue with the cabin lights. After getting back to me with an answer that was not helpful, they never responded to my follow up. The issue was trivial and did not cause a problem, but it made me concerned that a response, or lack thereof, for something that was important would go similarly poorly. Other small issues were a lack of extra trash bags and toilet paper, and no soap/shampoo for the showers. The guest guide book had a ton of useful information for local things to do, but was light on house details. It had good information for the hot tub, but nothing else.
