Casa María Duplex with Sea & Mountain Views, 15 Minutes walk from the Marina Rubicón

Clean, nice size rooms, good bathrooms. Was just what we needed

Pool was freezing, but time of year. Not expecting heated pool

Lovely big Duplex villa. Double en suite very spacious with good lighting & nighttime switches. Nice welcome pack of wine , water & milk. Very , very quiet area. Staff very responsive to our queries

Would recommend handrails on both sides at entrance level. Also 2nd hand rail on stairs. Wifi/Internet passwords were kept in picture frames which were not the least bit obvious. Passwords given in brochure were not correct. While there is adequate parking 5 mins walk from villa, the private 1 car space for house no. 7 was most unsatisfactory - it sloped downward to semi basement , almost impossible to get a comfortable angle. & was just the width of an average small car. This was most relevant as we were unlucky with extremely bad weather during early March 2026. The pool "motor" was coming on & off during night - but this was resolved to our satisfaction. While the compound is about 15 mins walk from the Marina , this is not a good route after dark as the surrounding land has not been developed, e.g. no street lighting, so you would need a torch ! The small compound itself is overdeveloped - absolutely no open areas or greenery . Some taxis refused to enter the compound - we did not understand why. Not a big problem if weather good & you are in good health. Funny thing was 2 single duvets on double bed! While respect for a family owned home was requested in the welcoming brochures , there was no evidence of a " family atmosphere". While the kitchen was adequately furnished it was small relative to house size. Very little worktop area for food preparation. Washing machine , sweeping brushes etc stored in outside area with no roofing - again not good during our unlucky bad weather week. Separate Barbecue area much the same. Re House design - We would say "null points" to the architects !
